An Open Letter from Stonecrest Homes

As you already know, COVID-19 has touched every part of our lives. Stonecrest Homes is no exception, and we, just like you, have experienced every kind of twist and turn – rising prices, supply shortages, uncertain lead times, and struggling distribution channels. Unfortunately, the pandemic has not been just a short-term crisis. It has far-reaching implications for how people work and how our supply chain functions. That means we haven’t seen the end of the changes, the delays, and the uncertainty. That goes not just for Stonecrest Homes or even the homebuilding industry but for everyone, everywhere.

The great news is Stonecrest Homes is not going anywhere. We’ve got the commitment, resources, and partnerships to continue to deliver the best for our customers, even though the journey along the way may look a little different these days. Our Stonecrest Homes team is working hard every day to navigate the issues as they come. While we do that, we are focused on three things, and we’d ask you to do the same:

 

PUT PEOPLE FIRST.   I coach our team to treat everyone like they would treat their grandmother. Respect, honesty, and treating others as we’d like to be treated are fundamental to how we do business. When we have answers, we’ll give them to you. When we don’t, we’ll tell you that upfront.  What we can’t control, we just can’t. But you can rest assured that we are constantly working for the best interest of our homebuyers.

TRUST THE PROCESS.   Changes, delays, and uncertain lead times related to supply shortages have become an unfortunate fact of life, and they have reshaped the homebuilding experience from end to end. When we come up against an obstacle, it’s tempting to sidestep around it, but that’s a recipe for disaster in the long run. Our processes are designed based on years of experience in what it takes to ensure top quality for our homeowners. Following them is critical, even when we experience delays or challenges along the way. We’ll never deliver a home that’s not complete, or that doesn’t meet our standards.

BRING YOUR HELMET.  Homebuilding has never been an easy business, and it definitely isn’t now. We’ve got to be in the trenches and expect some mud, bumps, and bruises along the way. It’s never going to be as straightforward as we’d like. We all must manage our expectations and acknowledge that it will take persistence, determination, and hard work to ensure the outcome we want in the end.
